  • Audio Books and Announcements!

I  have not had time to read a book in forever. It’s almost like I’ve given up, but do not worry. I haven’t because I have…

    AUDIO BOOKS!!!

I know. I know. Some people don’t count this, but it’s the only way I can fit any “reading” in right now. I would tell anyone who wants to read but doesn’t have time, so go the library and get some audio books! I listen to them while I get ready in the morning, when I’m wasting time on Facebook, or when I’m sorting all the photos on my computer.

My current book is The Absolutely True Diary of Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. I need to read it for school, but it’s actually a very good book! The author is the one reading in the audio tape version, so he knows exactly how things should be conveyed. While the book is aimed at younger young adults, I’m still enjoying it.

My chancellor recently chose the new book for next year’s university-wide common read program.  I am very excited for this book! I had just heard about the story in one of my bio classes. NPR also covered the book, so then you know it’s good! I was selected to be on the Steering Committee for the program next year, which I am very honored and excited about.

Happy Reading or Listening!!! (It counts!), Everyone!
