Okay. I know I continuously extended the deadline for finishing this book, but I did finally finish it!!
I finished: The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Why I Read It: A friend was reading it and I picked it up when he set it down just to see what it was about. I had heard about it in a magazine because the movie is coming out very soon. I also saw it on a list of books you should read before you die.
What I Thought: When I did find time to read the book, it went very quickly. It has no chapters, so you don’t really feel like it ever stops. It just flows. It was rather sad at some points. The entire book has a morbid theme, but that didn’t hinder the readability of the book. It did take me awhile to get used to the lack of grammar sometimes and quotation marks.
What’s Next on My List: In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan.
Why I Want to Read It: It’s my university’s common read book for this year. He’s also a best selling author and the material of the book interests me very much especially as a dancer, a supporter of all things local and independent, and a decedent of farmers. I heard Pollan speak and I’ve gone to one Book Discussion, so it’s time I actually read the book.

Hey!
What I’ve learned from my recent book adventuring is that if you set a goal of just reading five minutes a day, a chapter a day, or ten pages a day, you will eventually finish your book! It won’t seem so overwhelming either!
Keep reading everyone!
