“@katcameron: Finished reading Pat Rothfuss’s Name of the Wind.” Yay!
Last time, I posted I was working on reading The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss. I am still reading it, but making a lot more progress now that school is done.
The best part about sumnmer so far is how many books I’ve “read” so far. I am lucky to have gotten a job this summer even though I’ll only be working for 2 months or so. Unfortunately, it’s excessively boring. I have very little human interaction because my cubicle is far away from any office, and basically, my job is really simple and not very challenging. The good news about this is that I have 8 hours a day to listen to audio books!!! Yay!!! I’m slowly making my way through a list of books I really want to read.
Here’s what I’ve “read” so far:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson
I’m literally 6 tracks away from finishing this book! Too bad the ending is partly ruined for me because my parents insisted on listening to it in car on the way to the cabin. Oh, well.
My List for the Rest of the Summer:
The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest by Stieg Larsson
I won’t be able to listen to this one anytime soon. My parents have decided that we will listen to it during long family car rides. yay…
Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers by Louise Rennison
I read this series in High School, so it’ll be a little nostalgic for me to read this, again. I would also recommend this series to basically any teenage girl.
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
Hot, Flat, and Crowded by Thomas Friedman
I’ve read enough excerpts from this book in school to finally read the entire thing.
The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien
That’s all I have so far, but I’ll probably add more later just because you go through audio books very quickly when you listen to them for 8 hours every day.
Good luck in all your reading adventures!!

By the way, I started a personal blog, so a lot of these might be reblogs.Patrick Rothfuss is amazing.
This is a draft of his book that just came out, The Wise Man’s Fear, next to his adorable baby, whom he calls Oot. I personally think the name is adorable.
Anyway, the point is that I just started to read The Wise Man’s Fear and am pretty pumped about it. Yay Spring Break.
Also, Yay large stacks of paper and babies named Oot.

Feeling guilty- I haven’t had much time for reading since the 2nd week of school. I’ll try to make up for it over spring break. -Kat
I bought beautiful new bookends, which are currently holding my Winter Break List!! See my last post for the specifics on what I’m attempting to read!
I have been in love with these bookends (from Pottery Barn Teen) since September. They are a very appreciated early birthday present. :)

WOOO Winter Break. No school. What does this mean? Enough time to have a life or at least, read some books.
My List:
So my school year has been a lot more hectic than usual. I definitely am just trying to focus on getting through the end of the semester and making it out without getting horribly ill.
However, currently, I’m in the middle of reading:
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
My school hosted the author, Rebecca Skloot, so of course, I went to listen. Great speaker. I’m glad I went.
I’m currently on a committee my school’s common read program, so I am busy helping to plan next year’s book already.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Still working on this… Part one of the seventh movie was good though. I’d recommend it.
Hopefully, after the semester ends, I’ll have time to take care of myself and maybe get some reading in, too.
Good luck to everyone who’s working on their Lists!
Kat
I might have posted this before, but I can never fully get over the awesomeness of Harry Potter cupcakes.

Loved Sara Gruen’s Water for Elephants, love bonobos and can’t wait to get my hands on Gruen’s Ape House, a fiction book about bonobos.
